Get More Done In Your Startup in 12 Weeks Than Others In 12 Months

Do you want to get more done in your startup in 12 weeks than others in 12 months? There's a system for that.

I’ve built 2 startups and coached over 50 founders - and even I wasted months before I found this method. Months I could’ve used to make real progress.

I need to tell you this because without this system, you’ll waste the next 12 months on stuff you could finish in just 12 weeks - and that can kill your startup.

And here’s the crazy part: This system is simple.

→ Only 5 steps
→ It’s actionable
→ You can use it right away in your startup

So if you’re tired of grinding 60 hours a week, burning through cash, and still barely seeing results, this is for you.

And hey - at the end, I’ll share a powerful growth shortcut that 9 out of 10 founders get wrong. You don't want to miss that.

Let’s dive right in.
Step 1

1. Define Your Big Goal

The first step is already a game-changer because most founders completely miss this.

If you want to get more done in your startup, you need to first define your big goal. It sounds simple, but I can’t tell you how many founders I’ve worked with said things like:

"We want to get more users, build more features, and expand into a new market" - all at the same time.

And then they wonder why nothing gets done.
Here’s the thing:
👉 You need one big goal - only one main goal that, if you achieve it, will actually move your startup forward.

And you need to make it measurable.
Not vague metrics like "more users."

I mean a crystal-clear goal like:

✅ "We want to get 1,000 paying users this month" or
✅ "$10k in recurring revenue at the end of this quarter."

Whatever your goal is, always tie it to your startup’s actual growth - not just features. So focus on one big goal and work on it until you’ve achieved it.

Now think about it for a second:
✏️ What’s your one big goal right now?

2. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to Prioritize Tasks

Now you know your big goal. But how do you know what tasks you should prioritize? I mean, you can’t do everything at once - your time is limited.

So you need to be very clear about what you work on.

And this is where one of the most powerful frameworks for prioritizing your tasks comes in - the Eisenhower Matrix.

It’s a simple tool that helps you figure out what to focus on to make real progress. I mean, think about your typical week:

→ You spend hours replying to emails
→ You have meetings
→ You tweak your landing page

But what about the tasks that actually grow your startup?
The ones that move you toward your big goal?

The Eisenhower Matrix helps you find out what to do now, what to schedule, what to delegate, and what to ignore. Here’s the quick version how it works:

You write down all the tasks on your to-do list and sort them into four buckets based on two questions:

✅ Is it urgent?
✅ Is it important?

→ Urgent and important: Do it right now
→ Important but not urgent: Schedule it
→ Urgent but not important: Delegate it
→ Not urgent and not important: Delete it

Now here’s the magic:

This method stops you from reacting to every ping, every new trend, every new growth hack or idea. You’ll know exactly what to focus on - and what actually moves the needle for your startup.

3. Build an MVP on Everything

Once you know your next steps, here’s the third step to get more done - and I wish I knew this earlier. I could have saved so much time.

Now, I’m a perfectionist. When I build something, I always aim for 110%. But when you’re building your startup - that’s a big mistake. Because you won’t get anything done.

It took me 3 months to build my website.
2 months to build a product.

That’s not how it’s done.

So here’s what I’ve learned:
Always build an MVP - for everything. MVP stands for minimum viable product, and it’s the simplest form of your product that is still valuable for people.

And the idea is simple:

You build something small and get it in front of people quickly. Because you learn more when 10 people use your rough idea than when 100 people never see it because you're too busy making it perfect.
👉 I mean be honest - how many weeks have you spent polishing something no customer ever saw? Exactly. That’s why the MVP is so important.

But if you really want to move fast in your startup and get more done - I want you to take it a step further.

Use this testing mindset for everything:

✅ For your marketing
✅ When you build features
✅ For operations
✅ Everything

Let me give you an example. One founder was debating between two completely different landing page copy ideas. She spent almost 3 days thinking about which one to design first.

So I suggested she launch both as minimal landing pages and see which got more sign-ups. Within a few days, one got 3 sign-ups, one got 100. Pretty clear.

So remember - perfect is the enemy of progress.
Launch minimal, iterate fast, and learn from real results.

4. Launch It Quickly

OK… so you’ve built your MVP. Now what?
Now comes the important part: You just launch it.

And yes, yes, I know - it feels hard to launch something that isn’t perfect.
But that’s what it’s all about.

→ We want to get things done
→ We want to move quickly
→ We want to get real feedback
👉 So here’s a pro tip to help you develop that testing mindset: Aim for 90%. Not 100%.

90% is enough to test, learn, and improve quickly.
It lets you see what works and improve stuff without wasting months polishing something that nobody wants to use anyway.

And here’s the funny part - most users won’t even know that it’s only your 90% version.

For example, in my first startup, we spent weeks tweaking font sizes or some colors.

You know what?
Our users didn’t even notice.

So whatever you build - go for 90%, and get it in front of users.

5. Iterate Based on Feedback

And now - once you launch - comes the important part. You don’t just leave it there. Take what you learn from customer feedback and make changes.

And it’s not about adding endless features. It’s about acting on real customer feedback - fast.

And again, we can use the MVP testing mindset for improvements as well:

✅ Quickly improve it
✅ Aim for 90%
✅ Launch again

When you establish such a mindset in your startup, you won’t believe how much quicker you can get things done.

Just as a comparison:
Most founders take 6 months to build their product, take another 3 months to make it perfect, get some feedback, and take another 3 months to implement that feedback.

That’s frustrating and doesn’t really grow your startup.
So remember - build quick, get it in front of users, and iterate.

Bonus: Pro Tip – Set Yourself a Timer

Now here’s the bonus tip I promised.

To get things done even faster and to force yourself to go for that 90% - I created a little hack. When you build - let’s say - a new feature, think about how long it would take to make it 100% perfect.

And here’s the hack:

However long you think it’ll take, cut it in half. Yes, half.
Force yourself to hit 90% fast, launch, then improve from real feedback.

Setting such a deadline will help you get things done super quickly.

What's next

So that’s how you can get more done in 12 weeks in your startup than other founders do in 12 months. It’s all about knowing exactly what your goal is, prioritizing the right tasks, and having a testing mindset.
