The 3-2-1 Trick That Forces Your Startup to Grow

How do you actually grow your startup fast... when it feels like nothing’s working?

You see, when you’re building your startup, what happens?
Every day feels urgent. You’re ...

→ building your product
→ getting new customers
→ talking to users
→ managing cash

... all at once.

But your startup still doesn't grow. It’s exhausting. It’s frustrating. And it makes you feel like maybe you’re not made for this.

How do I know?

I’ve been there. I remember sitting in my apartment thinking exactly that when I first started.

I’m Oskar. I’ve coached over 50 startups and built two startups myself.
And over my career, I learned something that changed everything:
👉 If you want to grow your startup faster – it’s not about working harder.

So let me share the exact solution to this common problem – the 3-2-1 trick that forces your startup to grow. But first, let me show you what my startup life looked like – before I used this trick.

You’ll probably recognize yourself in this.

My Startup Beginnings

In my first startup, my calendar was packed.

→ Checking emails
→ Having meetings
→ Doing marketing
→ Improving the product
→ Another meeting
→ Replying to more emails

I was doing everything, but my startup wasn’t growing.
And I kept asking myself – what the heck am I missing? Why do some founders get millions in revenue, thousands of users, and I’m moving so slow?

I talked to a lot of founders about it, and the answer was a total game-changer for me – especially because it was super simple.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the right few things.

So I built a simple framework that changed how I plan every single week.

I call it the 3-2-1 Startup Trick – and once you try it, you’ll never work the same way in your startup again.

The Framework

The 3-2-1 Startup Trick works like this:
Ask yourself one question:

✅ If I could only do 3 things this week to grow my startup, what would they be?

→ Write them down.
→ Then cut it down.

✅ What if I could only do 2?
✅ And what if I could only do 1 thing?

That forces you to focus.

It cuts busywork, unnecessary meetings, random ideas – all the little things that make you feel busy but don’t actually grow your startup.

When you apply this framework every week, it forces your startup to grow – because you stop reacting to every ping. You’ll be shocked by how much clearer your week becomes.

So here’s my challenge:

Before this week ends, ask yourself – what’s the one thing that would actually move your startup forward? Write it down.

But hey – even with this trick, most founders hit one big problem.
They know what to do, but not what actually matters most.
So how do you know what really grows your startup?

Let me show you how you can figure that out – super simple.

How to know hat really grows your business

So, how do you actually know what really grows your business?

Let’s say you’ve done the 3-2-1 startup trick and now you’ve got 3 things on your list. What should you focus on first – and what should you cut?

The best way to find out is to imagine where your startup would be if you achieved each outcome.

Let’s say one of your 3 things is get 200 active users.
Now picture what that feels like:

✅ More revenue
✅ More people talking about your product
✅ More confidence that you’re onto something real

That sounds like growth to me.

Now let’s say you also wrote down get user feedback.
At the end of the week, you’d have some feedback you can use to improve your product. That’s helpful, sure – but it won’t grow your startup nearly as much as getting real users.

So the rule is simple: Imagine what life would look like for your startup if you achieved each goal – and then pick the one that moves you forward the most.

Let me show you how I used it in our startup.

How I used it in my startup

I had 3 things on my list:

1. Build the MVP
2. Get first users
3. Do marketing

For me, it was pretty clear what came first – building the MVP was the foundation for getting users. So I focused on that.

Once that was done, I focused on getting first users.
Then I started with marketing.

It sounds obvious when you say it out loud, but it’s crazy how much time we waste in our startup doing stuff that only keeps us busy.

So use this framework, and you’ll see how fast your startup can grow.
